Dunboyne club eager to serve the local community

On Sunday members of Dunboyne tennis club will look to bring back some glory to the club when they take part in Dublin Lawn Tennis Leauge (Class Six) final.

The team of Adrian Nedelca, Alin Nedelca, Dave Carolan, Gabriel Pusca, Arun Rao and Arek Fechner will look to utilise their skills and achieve success.

Dunboyne Tennis Club was founded in 1979 and includes players from Dunboyne, Clonee and beyond.

Membership is now at approximately 200, a figure that represents a 55 per cent increase since 2019.

The club can boast of some excellent facilities including a modern clubhouse, four all-weather floodlit courts and practice wall.

At junior level they have 100 members playing on a weekly basis with 80 availing of coaching. Dunboyne TC are one of 80 tennis clubs participating in Tennis Ireland's ENJOY Tennis Programme.

The club has a long-term commitment to facilitating free access to coaching for those with disabilities in conjunction with local organisations and the regional development officer.

According to club official Liz Whoriskey Dunboyne TC are "a growing, vibrant and inclusive club facilitating all levels of ability."
