Water outages likely in Trim tomorrow

Residents and businesses in Trim could be without water again tomorrow as Irish Water carries out improvement works at Brayhill reservoir.

Consumers in Trim, Knightsbrook, Scurlockstown, Effernock, Carberstown, Blackfriary, Crowpark, Clonbun, Rathmolyon and surrounding areas may experience low water pressure and/or water outages until 10am tomorrow, (Wednesday).

Once works are successfully completed, normal water supply will begin to be restored. Full water supply may take 2-3 hours to return as water refills the network but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.

Speaking about the works, Michael Cunniffe, Irish Water said, “Irish Water understands the inconvenience these works may cause and thanks customers for their patience while we work to complete them as quickly as possible.

"These works are essential in helping to improve the security of supply for customers in Trim. We are continuing to work to minimise any further disruptions and continually monitor the performance of the water network and undertake additional works as required to safeguard the local supply.”

"Irish Water is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services".

He said Irish Water and Meath County Council regrets any inconvenience caused. "Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries."
