Action from today's one-sided encounter between Boardsmill and Ratoath.

Drums best in thriller as the 'Mill stroll into last four

Winning the IHC this year remains very much a live possibility for both Boardsmill and Drumree after they claimed victories in their respective quarter-final encounters at Trim today.

Both matches were very different in just about every way. The Boardsmill v Ratoath encounter proved to be a non-event. Ratoath put up a flimy challenge indeed as Boardsmill marched to a resounding 5-20 to 0-5 victory.

Tommy Leonard showed the way with 2-2 while Danny Dixon also twice found the net for the 'Mill. The game was effectively over at the break when Boardsmill led 2-7 to 0-1 against a desperately poor Ratoath outfit who had Tommy Cooper sent off just after the break.

The second game between Kildalkey and Drumree turned out to be a far more intense affair. Kildalkey led 1-4 to 0-3 at the break and were looking good but Drumree dominated the second-half.

The team in red and white hoops engineered goals scored by Josh Wall and Sean Kilcoyne to help ensure their place in the last four. Wall ended up with 1-4 while Sean Doyle hit six points, all frees.

Drumree will face Dunderry while Boardsmill take on Rathmolyon at the semi-final stage.
