Walk-in vaccination clinics as cases rise sharply

Walk-in vaccination clinics are taking place in centres across the country over the next week, as health officials appeal to everyone to get vaccinated as infection rates rise sharply.

A walk-in clinic will take place at Simonstown GAA Centre, Navan from 2pm to 6.30pm tomorrow (Friday) and on Monday from 9am to 5pm, as well as on Wednesday and Friday of next week from 2 to 6.30pm.

The Fairyhouse vaccination centre will operate from 11am to 3pm tomorrow and Saturday, and from 9am to 4pm on Monday.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday of next week (28th, 29th and 30th October), there will be walk-in clinics from 11am to 4pm.

The Fairways vaccination centre in Dundalk will operate from 1.30 to 4pm tomorrow and tomorrow week, and from 9.15am to 3.30pm on Monday. It will also operate from 9.15 am to 12.15pm on Saturday 30th.

The HSE along with Louth and Meath County Councils are working together to encourage those who have not yet had a vaccine to get vaccinated.

Dr Pereira said: “Everyone in Ireland aged 12 and older is eligible to receive free Covid-19 vaccines. Those who are currently eligible for vaccines but remain unvaccinated are at risk of becoming seriously ill. In order to protect yourself and prevent the spread, it is important that you get vaccinated.

“Our message to the eligible population who have had their doses of the vaccine is; thank you. To those who have one dose; please ensure you receive your second dose, and to those who have not yet come forward to be vaccinated; please, we urge anyone who has not yet availed of a vaccine to get it."
