Schoolgirls gather a hair-raising €11,000 for LauraLynn
Three primary school girls raised over €11,000 for LauraLynn in Batterstown last weekend. More than 200 local community, family and friends came to support Molly McGowan (11) Aisling Ledwith (11) and Isabelle Ledwith (9) as they cut over 36 inches of hair between them for the Little Princess Trust!
The girls who are in 4th, 5th and 6th class in Rathregan NS took this opportunity to host a cake sale, raffle and coffee morning to raise money for the LauraLynn Foundation at their local GAA Club Blackhall Gaels. Molly’s aunt Ruth Ward worked her magic and cut the very nervous girls’ hair!
There were some great prizes in the raffle which were donated by local businesses.
The atmosphere was fantastic with live music by Davey Yeates. The three girls are blown away by all the support and kindness shown to them and were also delighted that the weather stayed fine.
They would like to thank the huge support received from all the members of Blackhall Gaels and from the wider community.
