Cloudy day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle

Weather Update

After a misty start in parts, today will be mostly cloudy with patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle. However, drier and brighter weather will gradually follow from the west during the afternoon and evening. Feeling a little fresher than recent days with highest temperatures of 15 to 18 or 19 degrees Celsius, in just light west to northwesterly breezes.

Tonight will be mainly dry with clear spells and some patches of mist or fog developing. Later in the night, rain and drizzle will develop along the Atlantic seaboard with a freshening southerly breeze. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees.

Tomorrow will be largely dry in the east with some early brightness but with increasing cloud. Duller in the west with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle, becoming heavy and persistent near the coast in the evening. Highest temperatures 17 to 20 degrees in a freshening southerly breeze, becoming strong in the west.

On Thursday night, persistent or heavy rain with a risk of spot flooding will extend from the Atlantic across the country. Lowest temperatures of 13 or 14 degrees in blustery southerly winds, veering west and easing towards morning.

Friday will start off wet with outbreaks of rain gradually clearing northeastwards through the morning and afternoon, as brighter, sunnier conditions and showers, some heavy, follow from the west. The rain may linger over northeast Ulster until late in the day. Highest temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees with moderate westerly winds becoming light southerly generally. However, winds will freshen near the southwest coast on Friday evening from a west to northwest direction.

On Friday night, showers will continue, but will mostly die out overnight with some mist and fog patches forming. Lowest temperatures 7 to 11 degrees.

Saturday will be mainly dry with a mix of cloud and some bright or sunny spells. However, a few scattered showers will occur too. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees with light breezes.

Cloud will thicken from the Atlantic on Saturday evening and night with outbreaks of rain and drizzle extending eastwards overnight.

Sunday will bring scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle, heavier at times in parts of the west and south, but with good dry periods elsewhere. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in a mostly moderate southeasterly breezes, though brisk northwest winds will develop near the southwest coast.

Monday looks like bringing a good deal of dry bright weather with a few scattered showers. Temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees with light winds.
