Largely dry day with sunny spells and showers

Most places will remain largely dry today (Saturday), with the best of the sunshine this morning, according to the latest weather bulletin for Met Éireann.

A cloudier start for Ulster, cloud will bubble up countrywide this afternoon, bringing light passing showers, more frequent and heavier at times in Ulster. Winds will be light, west to northwest in direction and temperatures will range between 15 and 18 degrees.

Tonight will be mainly dry with clear spells, still some shower activity for Ulster where it will stay a little cloudier too. Lowest temperatures 9 or 10 degrees with light variable breezes.

Sunday will continue largely dry with brighter weather for the northwest, generally rather cloudy though. The south coast may see some cloudier conditions with the chance of rain there for a time. Highest temperatures 15 to 18 degrees with light east or northeast winds becoming light variable at times.

Sunday night will also be largely dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures 6 to 8 degrees with light variable or easterly breezes.

A rather cloudy start to the day on Monday, particularly on southern coasts, and for a time and there'll be passing showers across the north too. Overall it'll be a generally dry day. Highest temperatures 15 to 18 degrees with light variable winds, at times becoming east or southeast in direction.

Little change for Tuesday with mainly dry weather with sunny spells. There'll be showers through the afternoon, most frequent in Ulster and these may be heavy at times. Highest temperatures up to 19 or 20 degrees with light winds.

Wednesday winds will become southerly in direction with the possibility of rain affecting western coasts at first, then moving eastwards later. Temperatures between 15 degrees in the west to 20 degrees in the east with light southerly or variable winds becoming westerly as the rain clears.

Current indications suggest unsettled conditions from Thursday to next weekend with the chance of rain at times.
