Navan Gardai seize drugs and cash after chase across field

Gardai on patrol in the Brú na hAabhainn area of Navan seized a significant quantity of drugs and cash yesterday afternoon.

According to the Meath Crime Prevention page: "Detectives encountered a number of males racing around on scrambler motorbikes.

'As the patrol car approached, the group tried to evade the Gardaí. A foot chase ensued across a field and Gardaí caught one of the males involved. He was searched and found to be in possession of 23 small bags of a substance suspected of being cocaine.

"He was arrested and detained and a subsequent search of a house in the area was organised. During this search a small amount of drugs and cash to the value of €3,000 was seized. The suspect, aged 20, was charged and will appear in court at a later date."
