Meath pooch takes the crown in the Nose of Tralee!

Meet Your 2021 Nose of Tralee Winner The Meath Nose, Holly!

This year representing Royal county and taking the crown as the Meath Nose is Holly, a black (and somewhat grey) lab who is the remarkable age of 15 and a half ( the half is very important at her age).

1600 pets entered the 2021 Nose of Tralee - and it wasn't just cats and dogs who entered, entries came in from cows, horses, pigs, a chicken and even an alpaca.

47,000 votes decided who the top 3 pets were in each county (based on their votes)

And the judges (Tara Flynn, Lorna Sixsmith and David MCauly) had the difficult task of selecting the final 32.

Pet Sitters Ireland based in Tralee have been running the Nose of Tralee Competition for eight years now.

Holly has lived in Ratoath, Co. Meath since she was eight weeks old and she is dearly loved by her Mama and Dada, Geraldine and Franco De Bonis, her human brother Theo and her doggy brother George. "She still constantly wags her tail, loves her treats and though a little slow she is in great form." says Geraldine.

"We have had her in our lives since she was 8 weeks old and she is such a huge part of our family. About the house she is my little shadow, 'helping' out (well, she thinks she is helping by standing looking and wagging her tail) and following me about everywhere.

"Her tail never stops wagging, she has always been such a happy and gentle soul everyone and every dog loves to meet her. She is a special girl and even has her own tagline - 'Everydays a Hollyday'. Love my girl!

The winner will receive prizes from Sponsors Pet Sitters Ireland, Tesco Ireland and David McAuley Photography
