Meath set to tackle Tyrone next Saturday
Meath minor football manager Cathal O Bric is looking forward to the challenge of tackling Tyrone in next Saturday's All-Ireland MFC final at Croke Park.
Talking to the Meath Chronicle after Meath's semi-final victory against Sligo he siad that he had no issue with the quick turnaround.
At that stage the opposition wasn't know as the other semi-final had a 2.30pm start, but he suggested that Meath would be concentrating on their own game and hoping to bring an All-Ireland title to the Royal County.
Meath will face Tyrone in the All-Ireland MFC final at Croke Park this Saturday at 1pm in the curtain raiser to the rescheduled senior semi-final between Tyrone and Kerry.
The Tyrone boys qualified for the decider with an emphatic 14-point (0-23 to 1-6) victory against Cork at O'Connor Park, Tullamore on Saturday afternoon only hours after Meath had impressively negotiated Sligo.
Despite failing to convert a first-half penalty, Tyrone were always in control and were ahead by 0-10 to 0-3 at the interval.
Cork goalkeeper Daniel Walsh made a good save from Shea O'Hare's 20th minute effort, but the Ulster boys were totally dominant and could have won by more than the 14-point margin.
Tyrone had five points apiece from Ronan Cassidy and Eoin McElholm while substitutes Conor Owens sent over four and Jack Martin accounted for three.
Tyrone - Niall Robinson; Michael Rafferty, Callan Kelly, Matthew Mallon; Hugh Cunnningham (0-2 frees), Ronan Fox, Shea O'Hare; Ronan Donnelly, Ruairi McHugh (0-1); Ronan Strain (0-2), Paddy McCann, Gavin Potter; Ronan Cassidy (0-5 three frees), Cormac Devlin (0-1), Eoin McElholm (0-5). Subs - Conor Owens (0-4 three frees) for McCann half-time, Noah Grimes for Potter 52 mins, Brian Hampsey for Fox 54m, Ben Hughes for O'Hare 56m, Jack Martin (0-3) for Strain 58m.
