Ashbourne man Dawson Devoy was a big performer for Bohs against PAOK

Devoy and Finnerty feature as Bohs shock Greeks at Aviva

What a result tonight at the Aviva Stadium for Bohemian FC as they shocked Greek side PAOK in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League with a 2-1 victory.

Meath men Dawson Devoy and James Finnerty both featured with Ashbourne man Devoy starting and Skryne man Finnerty a second-half substitute.

PAOK included new signing, Shinji Kagawa, the Bundesliga and Premier League winner with Dortmund and Manchester United, but he was replaced after an hour.

Two goals from Scottish player Ali Coote - former clubs include Dundee Utd, East Fife and Brentford and Waterford last season - had the Dublin side in the ascendancy.

The Greeks hit a late goal to take into next week's second leg but the 'away goal rule' no longer applies and Bohs have every reason to approach next week's second leg with confidence.

PAOK is based in Thessaloniki in northern Greece and is one of the top sides in Greek football with the third largest fanbase.
