Drogheda set for Derry in FAI Cup

Tim Clancy's Drogheda United take a break from league action for a joust with Derry City as the two sides face off in the only all Premier Division tie in the First Round of the 2021 FAI Cup this afternoon.

Drogheda, like Derry, come into this game with one win in their last five games, a 3-1 win over Finn Harps.

A 1-1 draw away to Longford and a 0-2 defeat away to St. Patrick’s Athletic have followed since for Clancy's men.

Second half goals from Chris Forrester and Robbie Benson gave the Saints all three points in Richmond Park last week.

This tie is also a repeat of the Second Round tie last season where late goals from Ciaron Harkin and Stephen Mallon sent Derry through against then First Division Drogheda

In team news ahead of this game, Daniel O’Reilly is suspended after picking up five yellow cards this season while Brandon Bermingham is doubtful.

Kick-off 3pm.
