Summerhill4-10

Donaghmore/Ashbourne2-8

Despite marking a bright enough start Donaghmore/Ashbourne's fortunes faded in this Feis Cup encounter and they ended up losing to Summerhill at Ashbourne last evening. Shaun Byrne netted for the home side in the opening half but some measure of the challenge facing Donaghmore/Ashbourne was seen in the way they trailed 1-3 to 2-6 at the interval with one of the Summerhill goals coming from a penalty.

Summerhill continued to pile on the pressure in the second-half but the highlight as far as Donaghmore/Ashbourne were concerned was a well-worked move that ended with Conor Carton slotting home. It gave his side some hope but there was no stopping the 'Hill.

Carton also registered four points with Darragh McGovern, Andrew Tormey and Simon Wilson others to split the posts for Donaghmore/Ashbourne who had a chance in this game to give young players some experience ahead of the championship.
