Clancy's men back in business at Tallaght
Tim Clancy's Drogheda Utd earned a valuable point and ended a losing sequence with a 1-1 draw at Tallaght Stadium this evening against Shamrock Rovers.
The hosts took the lead from a first-half penalty awarded after Sean Gannon was adjudged to have been impeded, but Drogheda got back on level terms in the second-half, also from the spot.
Drogheda substitute Chris Lyons converted and both sides had a good chance apiece before the end with the woodwork saving Drogheda and the Louth side also squandered an opportunity in added time.
Dundalk won again with a 2-1 victory against Derry City while the other two games were 1-1 draws - Waterford v St Pat's and Finn Harps v Longford.
EUROPEAN UPDATE
Separately, there was 2021/2022 Champions League action this week with one-legged games in the preliminary qualifying round. All the teams that lost drop into the third tier competition the Europa Conference League.

HB will face whoever loses the first qualifying round tie between HJK Helsinki or Budućnost Podgorica in the UEFA Europa Conference League champions path second qualifying round on 22 and 29 July.

Prishtina 2-0 Inter Club d'Escaldes (Elbasan)
Inter Escaldes face whoever loses the first qualifying round tie between Teuta or Sheriff in the UEFA Europa Conference League champions path second qualifying round on 22 and 29 July.
Prishtina won the preliminary round and face Ferencváros in the first qualifying round.
