Stephen Carton scored six points for Donaghmore/ashbourne last night

Goal crazy Donaghmore/Ashbourne get off the mark

FEIS CUP

It was third time lucky for Donaghmore/Ashbourne as they finally got off the mark in the Feis Cup with a comfortable 5-17 to 1-5 victory over Curraha.

Curraha didn't have far to travel, but the journey home must have felt like forever as they were comprehensively beaten by a Donaghmore/Ashbourne side that took their time to get going, but once they did they were hugely impressive.

Leo Reilly, Shaun Byrne and Simon Wilson all had points on the board for Donaghmore/Ashbourne before Curraha responded with an exceptional goal to make it 1-1 to 0-4. However that goal just poked the bear as Stephen Carton, Sean Curran, Wilson and Reilly all founbd their range as the hosts opened up a 0-10 to 1-2 interval lead.

Clever play from Andy Tormey after the resumption set up Dylan Brady for a goal and that opened the floodgates as Carton, Wilson and Daragh McGovern added points before Sean Curran, Rory McCann, Wilson and Thomas McGovern (penalty) all found the back of the net.
