Moynalty water safe to use again as orders lifted

A 'Do Not Consume'' and a Do Not Wash' restriction that was in place for customers supplied by the Moynalty Public Water Supply since Sunday 20th June has been lifted with immediate effect.

Irish Water and Meath County Council carried out a programme of repair works at the plant, followed by a programme of sampling and monitoring of the water supply network. Repairs have been completed and the results from our monitoring programme have confirmed that the water is now safe to drink and to use for the preparation of foods, washing of utensils, use in washing machines and dishwashers, and for personal hygiene. This lift notice is being issued following consultation and agreement with the HSE.

If anyone has any queries they can call the Irish Water customer care helpline 24/7 on 1800 278 278.

Irish Water continues to work at this time, with our local authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of drinking water and wastewater services.
