Dry today with spells of hazy sunshine and light breezes

Weather Update

Many areas will be dry on Tuesday with spells of hazy sunshine and just light westerly breezes. However, cloud will gradually thicken in the west and north, bringing some patchy rain here by late afternoon or early evening. Top temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, warmest and driest in the south and east.

Patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle will move eastwards tonight. Hill, mist and coastal fog, in just light westerly breezes. Relatively mild and humid with lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees Celsius.

Starting out dull and misty on Wednesday with lingering rain and drizzle across Ulster and Leinster. Brighter weather will develop across the west and south during the morning, gradually extending to other areas by evening. Humid with top temperatures of 16 to 20 or 21 degrees Celsius, in just light westerly breezes; warmest across the southwest and west.

The outlook for the coming days is for some rain on Thursday with mostly dry settled conditions developing later this week and into next week too.

Wednesday night is expected generally dry under broken cloud. However some drizzle may affect the east early on, with some rain moving into the northwest towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees Celsius, in just light westerly breezes.

Rain will move into the north and west throughout Thursday morning with sunny spells elsewhere. During the afternoon, rain will gradually become more widespread with some heavy falls. Rain will affect across the southern half of Ireland into the evening, whilst some late sunshine will break through elsewhere. Top temperatures will range 15 to 21degrees Celsius, warmest ahead of the rain across the south and east, in mostly moderate westerly winds.

Thursday night is expected generally dry under broken cloud, in light to moderate northerly breezes. However, some rain will still affect southern counties early on. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees Celsius.

Most areas will be dry on Friday with sunny spells and moderate northeast breezes. However, scattered showers will affect Leinster where it will fee cool. Top temperatures will range 13 to 18 degrees Celsius, mildest across the midlands and southwest.

Current indications suggest there will be a good deal of dry weather this weekend with sunny spells and just the odd shower. Feeling pleasant in sunshine with no more than moderate westerly winds. Top temperatures of 16 to 21 or 22 degrees Celsius, warmest generally on Sunday.
