Meath championships for the hammer event at Frayne

The first day of the Meath Athletic Championships was held on Wednesday at Fr Murphy AC grounds with the Hammer competition.

Some great throwing with Robbert Higgins showing great form winning both the Junior & Senior competition.

Robert threw a great 52.83 meters in the Junior event the longest throw on the day and 42.90 with the heavier senior hammer.

Zoe Mohan won the senior ladies hammer with a brilliant throw of 45.15metres.

Paddy Reilly the oldest competitor and a stalwart of many a Meath Championships won the Masters hammer on the age graded system with 18.20meters.

Richard Lucid from St Andrew's had the longest throw of 25.39 but when adjusted for age Paddy came out on top.

FRIDAY

U-12 and U-13 long jump and high jump events in Ratoath AC 6pm - 9pm.

SATURDAY

Meath Athletics u-12/ u-13 Sprints in Dunboyne Saturday 19th June 2021

• Races will start at 5pm

• Under 12 Girls

Should arrive 4.30pm and go to track area beside the clubhouse where they can warm up and officials can arrange lanes etc.

• Under 12 Boys

Should arrive 4.40pm and go to grass area in middle of track- they can warm up in this area until they are moved on track area replacing girls.

• Under 13 Girls

Should arrive at 4.50pm and go to grass track area via gate behind clubhouse. They can warm up in this area until they are called to track area.

• Under 13 Boys

Should arrive at 5pm and go to grass track area behind the clubhouse. They can warm up here until they are called to track.

SUNDAY

U-12 and u-13 600m boys and girls in Claremont Stadium, Navan 10am - 2pm.
