Navan Family Cycle on Sunday next

Registration necessary for free event

At Navan Cycling Initiative's inaugural community cycle event last September, 100 people of all ages cycled around Navan on a gloriously sunny autumn day, and since then they’ve been looking forward to the next one! This year 200 participants are allowed to participate and Meath County Council has very generously allowed the use of their car park at Buvinda House as the start and finish point. There’s also a shortcut along the route, in case of tired legs.

The event is a cycle around Navan, starting at 10am on Sunday 20th June. The starting point is at the Meath County Council offices at Buvinda House. Entry is available from the Bóthar Sion entrance only.

The cycle is open to everyone with a bike! For the safety and health of everyone involved, there are some rules:

• All participants must wear a helmet, must be at least six years of age and must be able to cycle independently [bikes with wheels larger than 14” are most suitable] – no balance bikes, no stabilisers, no scooters and all bikes must be roadworthy.

• Younger children may participate as passengers on parent/guardian’s bikes.

• Each participant must carry a mask. A mask must be worn if close to a person outside their own ‘bubble’ – e.g. in the event of a puncture. Current Covid-19 restrictions apply – maximum 200 participants and 2m social distancing rules.
