Dunderry spoil Dowd's day

CORN NA BOINNE

Kevin Dowd welcomed his home club Dunderry to Bective for this Corn na Boinne clash, but he couldn't inspire his new side to victory as the visitors claim the spoils, 2-17 to 0-12.

The contest started lively and was even until Conor Leavy's goal on the stroke of the first water break gave Dunderry the edge and they never looked back.

Further points from Dermot Kelly and Conor Farrell extended Dunderry's lead to 1-8 to 0-5 at the break.

Bective threatened a revival after the resumption with Cathal McConnell managing three successive points, but a Luke Martyn goal shortly after the second water break ended Bective's revival as Dunderry cruised to the win.
