Concession of quickfire goals proves costly for 'Bracks

The concession of two quickfire goals soon after the first water break left Ballinabrackey with too much to do as they lost out by 1-12 to 2-13 to Na Fianna in their first home match in the Feis Cup.

Sean Kavanagh and David Carroll kept Ballinabrackey in touch as they trailed Na Fianna by 0-2 to 0-3 at the water break, but when play resumed disaster struck as the goals from Jack McNally and Ethan Devine stunned the hosts and they then conceded six consecutive points before Seamus Curry's free closed the gap to 0-3 to 2-8 at the interval.

Curry and Danny Quinn launched a comeback after the resumption, but against Na Fianna responded before Quinn and David Carroll pointed to make it 0-8 to 2-11 at the second water break.

The final quarter belonged to the strong finishing 'Bracks. Richie Coffey rattled the visitors net before Damien and David Carroll, Curry and Jack McLoughlin closed the gap to four. However Na Fianna held on to claim the spoils.
