O'Neill goal crucial as Tones hit the right note

With their 2020 final still to be played Wolfe Tones opened their 2021 Feis Cup campaign with an impressive 1-12 to 0-10 victory over visitors St Colmcille's at Kilberry last night.

There was plenty of rustiness from both sides following the long lay off, but it was Wolfe Tones who were the sharper as they led by 0-9 to 0-5 at half-time and by 0-12 to 0-9 at the second water break with Caolan Ward, Cian Ward, Saran O Fionnagain, Stephen Sheppard and Cian O'Neill accounting for their points.

However it wasn't until O'Neill's final quarter goal that Wolfe Tones finally put St Colmcille's away and could celebrate their safe and successful return to action.
