Lynam's Siren blasts home at Cork

Trainer Sarah Lynam, who is based outside Dunshaughlin, but close to Skryne had an aptly-named winner at Cork yesterday when Screen Siren obliged with Mikey Sheehy on board.

The long journey to the Mallow track was for a competitive five-furlong test that was over in all of 60.67 seconds.

The 71-rated filly had a length-and-a-half to spare at the post from the Michael Halford-trained Roxette.

Speaking to irishracing.com after the race Lynam, who has also featured on TG4 this year as a racing analyst, remarked: "I know the family well and have a good few of the relations at home. Dad has her brother Linus Larrabee and there is a full sister to come to me later in the year so I'm delighted."

Dad is trainer Eddie Lynam who is also the owner of Screen Siren which was running at Cork for the fourth time from only six outings.

This was the first success for the three-year-old which was also bred by the owner.

COLIN KEANE

There was a double on the card for the champion jockey Colin Keane.

The featured Group 3 Munster Oaks went to the Keane-partnered Thunder Kiss (3/1) for trainer Ger Lyons

Keane completed a double when the Pat Fahy-trained Novarrosse (13/2) was a clearcut winner of the 45-65 Fermoy Handicap.
