O'Hanlon on the mark at Roscommon

Meath jockey Paddy O'Hanlon landed the Connacht Natioanl today at Roscommon when partnering The Echo Boy to victory in the three-mile and almost one-furlong contest.

Trained by Irish Grand National-winning trainer Dermot McLoughlin, The Echo Boy got home with two lenghts to spare from the Noel Meade-trained Jerandme.

O'Hanlon edged into the lead two from home and The Echo Boy had enough in the tank to take the win to add to the beginners chase victory at Fairyhouse last November.

"I knew if he settled he'd get the trip as he had won a couple of point-to-points," remarked McLoughlin to irishracing.com.
