Model display from Meath

There was plenty for Meath to be cheerful about as they inflicted a heavy 7-17 to 0-5 defeat on Wexford in the Ladies NFL Div 2A at sun-splashed Wexford Park today.

After losing to Kerry the previous week this was what was needed from Meath as they steamrolled a Wexford side who had no answer to the the visitors power.

They particularly struggled to contain Stacy Grimes who scored 4-2 as she and her colleagues ran riot in the opening half.

At the interval the contest was signed and sealed as Meath led 6-8 to 0-1. The Royals made a raft of substitutions but they still were the better side.

Vikki Wall, Bridgetta Lynch and Emma White also found the net for Meath while Orlagh Lally, Aoibhin Cleary, Emma Duggan, Niamh O'Sullivan, Lynch, White, Megan Thynne, Ali Sherlock, Niamh Gallogly and Meadbh Byrne were otherst to fire over for the winners.

Amy Wilson scored four for Wexford, all frees with Caitriona Murray also converting a free.

Next up for Meath is a home game against Clare next Sunday.
