New principal for Beaufort College

Current deputy principal, Ken Flynn, has been appointed principal at Beaufort College, Navan, with effect from 1st September.

Mr Flynn has worked at Beaufort College since 2008, firstly as a teacher of religious education and as behaviour for learning co-ordinator.

Since 2013 he has been deputy principal at the school.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Psychology, a Higher Diploma in Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Management.

Bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise to the role, he has significant experience in the areas of school leadership, management and governance, DEIS planning and supports, school building projects, curriculum review and development, inclusive education, school self evaluation and policy review and development.

Mr Flynn is committed to supporting and promoting student attendance, student retention, teacher professional development, staff and student voice and well-being initiatives at the school.

He will work closely with all members of the school community to monitor and track student progress during their time at Beaufort College and to map out and action pathways for progression to third level/further education and apprenticeships - employment for students attending the school.

In his leadership and management role at Beaufort College, Mr Flynn will be assisted by a team of two deputy principals.
