Ronald set for Grade 1 bid with Robbie Power on board

Meath trainer Matthew Smith will be hoping for a good run from the versatile and consistent Ronald Pump in France tomorrow.

Robbie Power will be on board for the three-mile and almost two furlongs of the Grade 1 Grande Course de Haies d'Auteuil (Hurdle) at Auteuil.

The eight-year-old is owned by the Laois Limerick Syndicate and last month finished third in the Grade 1 Champion Stayers Gurdle at Punchestown for Keith Donoghue behind the Willie Mullins pair od Klassical Dream and James du Berlais.

Last November Ronald Pump was second to Honeysuckle in the Hattons Grace at Fairyhouse.
