First winner of new NH season for Tom Gibney

Another Meath trainer that won the Irish Grand National was on the mark at Wexford today.

Tom Gibney was successful with Lion Na Bearnai in 2012 and this year's winning trainer Dermot McLoughlin was also successful in an earlier race at Wexford today.

The Gibney-trained Ah Littleluck landed the three mile and one handicap chase, but had to survive a stewards' enquiry that resulted in a two racesdays ban for winning jockey Darragh O'Keeffe although the result stood.

"I’m delighted to get that win with him, I have him a good while, that's our first winner of the new season," commented the winning trainer to irishracing.com.

The new season started at the beginning of May.
