Major injury blow for Meath

Meath's hopes of bouncing immediately back to NFL Div 1 suffered a major setback last Saturday following an injury to one of Andy McEntee's key midfielders.

Dunboyne's Ronan Jones suffered a bad injury in Saturday's senior football challenge against hosts Armagh and was later diagnosed as suffering a broken arm which will rule out of Meath's three NFL Div 2 North games against Westmeath, Down and Mayo.

Jones was one of Meath's most impressive players during their NFL Div 1 campaign and cemented his place in midfield alongside Bryan Menton.

Meath played two games against Armagh on Saturday as McEntee utilised his full panel to give every player significant game time. The first game ended in a draw while Meath narrowly lost the second game to Armagh.
