GAA inter-county back in action

GAA inter-county action returned today in the NHL Div 1 with action in Group A and Group B.

Meath manager Nick Weir would have had a big interest in his own county (Westmeath) as they tackled Galway in Group A at Cusack Park, Mullingar.

Westmeath could face the Royal County in the Joe McDonagh Cup - depending on how results go in each group.

Westmeath gave Galway man Davy Glennon his debut, but the Connacht side were comfortable throughout as they won by 5-34 to 1-16.

Galway were ahead by 3-18 to 0-10 at half-time.

Also in Group A Kilkenny got the better of Dublin by 0-18 to 2-10.

In Group B, the big game of the day saw a draw at 0-20 each between Limerick and Tipperary. The teams were tied at 0-12 each at half-time.
