Gary Rogers on the ball with analysis

Bohermeen man Gary Rogers was on the analysis team for RTE this evening at Oriel Park as Dundalk hosted Sligo Rovers in the League of Ireland Premier Division.

The former Dundalk custodian (2015 - 2020) wasn't too impressed with the form of the Louth club this season and suggested before kick-off that Sligo Rovers would be the most likely team to win.

Rogers was proved right as Sligo Rovers won 1-0 and the Meath man gave a good insight into what he felt was missing from the Dundalk performance.

It got worse for Dundalk as the second-half progressed after Sligo had to play out the final 35 minutes with 10 men and held on for victory.

The only Meath man on the panel for Louth club was Greg Sloggett and he was on the bench tonight after featuring in the last number of games.

In the other Premier game Derry City and Longford Town finished 1-1.

First Division results -

Cabinteely 1, Cobh 0; UCD 3, Treaty 2; Cork City 5, Wexford 0; Galway 1, Bray 2; Shelbourne 1, Athlone Town 0.

The only Meath players in action were Ross Treacy for Wexford and Dylan Hand for Athlone Town.

TOMORROW

It appears that Waterford will field the club's u-19 team against Tim Clancy's Drogheda tomorrow due to Covid-19 close contacts for some first team players.
