Kilmessan trainer Kevin Michael Smith on the mark at Cork

Kiltale colours in the winners' enclosure at Cork

Colin Keane was in double form again today when he was on the mark at Cork for both Dermot Weld and Kilmessan trainer Kevin Michael Smith.

Keane brought up the double on the Smith-trained International Lady which was purchased last October at Tattersalls UK for £1,500.

Twelve months prior to that International Lady was purchased for €68,000 at the October 2019 Goffs Orby Sale, but was unplaced subsequently in four starts in the UK for Richard Fahey and made the journey back to Ireland.

Running for Peter Durnin today in colours that are very similar to the Kiltale Hurling Club, International lady had outings at Dundalk in November and January before today's winning display at Cork.

Keane's first winner was with the Weld-trained Kailash which got off the mark in a maiden.

Colin Keane shaded the verdict from Robbie Colgan on runner-up Star Official and Declan McDonogh on third-placed Faron as the trio of Meath jockeys' dominated.

McDonogh scored later on the card with the Joseph O'Brien-trained Cambedoo at generous odds of 22/1 in a seven-furlong maiden.
