Drogheda battle for Brandywell point

Tim Clancy's Drogheda had to battle for a point against bottom-of-the-table Derry City in the League of Ireland Prenire Division at the Brandywell this evening.

The televised encounter ended 1-1 and Meath duo Luke Heeney and Brandon Bermingham (pictured above) both featured for the Louth side in the second-half.

Drogheda will be back in action on Tuesday evening when they host Shamrock Rovers.

Another Meath duo, James Finnerty and Dawson Devoy featured for Bohemians as they recorded a 1-0 win away to Waterford.

Bohemians will host Sligo Rovers on Tuesday evening.

In the First Division Dylan Hand helped leaders Athlone Town to a 2-1 win at Bray.

There was no joy for Wexford again this weekend as they lost (1-2) at home to Cobh Ramblers.

Jimmy Corcoran was between the posts for the Wexford side while the win for Cobh moves them above neighbours Cork City.

Cock City now sit two off the foot of the table after relegation from the Premier last season.

Georgie Poynton was in the starting line up for Shelbourne as the Dublin side won 3-1 away to Cork City.

Galway and Treaty Utd finished 1-1 while UCD defeated Cabinteely by 4-1.
