Fine win for Tim Clancy's Drogheda

Tim Clancy's Drogheda recorded a fine 4-0 win against hosts Longford Town in the League of Ireland Premier Division.

It was the clash of the two promoted sides and goals from Mark Doyle, who scored twice, Chris Lyons and Hugh Douglas sealed the win.

The win moves Clancy's side up to fourth in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division table.

Cavan man Colin McCabe was between the posts for Drogheda while Meath duo James Clarke and Luke Heeney were second-half substitutes

Finn Harps set themselves up nicely for next weekend's visit to Sligo as table-toppers with a late winner from David Webster in a 2-1 win against Waterford.

Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-1 draw at the Showgrounds.

The goals arrived near the end as the Dublin side salvaged a point with an 88th minute equaliser.
