339 new cases of Covid-19 in Meath in last two weeks

A further 34 deaths from Covid-19 and 473 new cases of the virus have been confirmed this evening.

Of the deaths reported today, three occurred in April, four in March, 19 in February, five in January, and three occurred in December or earlier.

Nineteen of today's new cases have been in Meath and the county has seen 339 new cases in the past two weeks.

There have been 4,769 deaths of people with Covid-19 in Ireland and there have now been 240,192 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

As of 8am today (Friday), 212 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 53 are in ICU. There have been 17 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of last Tuesday (6th April) there have been 961,887 doses of Covid-19 vaccines administered in Ireland: 679,844 people have received their first dose and 282,043 people have received their second dose.

Of the cases notified today:

224 are men and 247 are women

76 per cent are under 45 years of age

the median age is 29 years old

229 are in Dublin, 32 in Kildare, 21 in Mayo, 19 in Meath, 30 in Donegal and the remaining 142 cases are spread across 19 other counties.
