Local businesses rally around to support Meath Women’s Refuge

A WOMAN alone has power but collectively they have impact. This fact was never more evident when a bunch of like-minded local Navan business women got together recently to raise funds for a well-deserved local organisation the Meath Women’s Refuge.

The Navan business women got together to create an ultimate ‘Mother’s Day Makeover’ prize including a signature facial and tan from Skin & Bodyworks; full make-up and nails from NV Beauty and Brows; colour, cut and blow-dry from Adam Gayle's hair salon; brand new outfit from Reign Boutique and dinner for two in Crave restaurant.

“As a local female entrepreneur, it’s important to me to make a difference both within my business and the wider community. By working alongside other Navan business women, we were able to raise an amazing €3,020 for the Meath Women’s Refuge. It makes me proud to see women supporting women – through collaboration we can make change happen!” said Andrea Farrelly, owner of Skin & Bodyworks

The Meath Women’s Refuge provides emergency accommodation for women and children who have to leave their home because of domestic abuse. They also provide an outreach service in the community including court attendance as well as a 24-hour helpline, 365 days a year. They depend on the support of the local community, businesses and community groups. Anyone who would still like to donate can still do so on their website www.dvservicesmeath.ie
