HPSC confirms 769 new Covid cases and two further deaths

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) has today been notified of 769 confirmed new cases of Covid-19, 45 of which were in County Meath.
Sadly, the deaths of two more people related to the virus have also been reported with today's figures, bringing to 4,587 the death toll in Ireland to date.
The figures are up to date as of midnight, Saturday, March 10. There have now been a total of 230,599 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland in little over a year.
The five-day rolling average of cases for County Meath now stands at 32 cases per day.
In the fortnightly period up to March 10, there were 420 new cases of the virus in the county.
Of the 769 new cases notified today:
- 381 are men / 378 are women
- 75% are under 45 years of age
- The median age is 32 years old
- 284 cases are in Dublin, 67 in Donegal, 47 in Offaly, 45 in Meath, 44 in Kildare, and the remaining 282 cases are spread across 20 other counties.
As of 8am today, 360 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, 82 of which are in ICU. There have been 19 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.
As of March 18, 654,251 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland:
- 478,725 people have received their first dose
- 175,526 people have received their second dose
