Another Festival win for Gavin Cromwell

Gavin Cromwell added another Cheltenham winner to his tally this afternoon when he landed the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle in fine style with Vanillier.

Mark Walsh was on board the six-year-old grey as two of the first three home were trained in Meath with Streets Of Doyen in third place for trainer John McConnell.

However, it was the Cromwell-trained Vanillier that prevailed for Mark Walsh with the Colin Tizzard-trained Oscar Elite 11 lengths back in the second place.

Vanillier won a maiden hurdle last November for Jonathan Moore, but it was Walsh who had the steering duties today as Cromwell enjoyed his second winner of the 2021 Festival.

Cromwell has one more runner – Gabynako in the Martin Pipe at 4.50 and on form it has a chance as it finished third to Bob Olinger at Naas in January.
