Trainer Noel Meade in winning form at Cheltenham today.

Jeff Kidder shoots down the opposition for Noel Meade

Two wins and two seconds from five outings over hurdles is the record the Noel Meade-trained Jeff Kidder can boast today after landing the Grade 3 Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle with Sean Flanagan on board today at Cheltenham.

A handicap winner on the flat over a mile-and-a-half at Bellewstown in August for champion flat jockey Colin Keane, the Meade-trained Jeff Kidder got off the mark over the jumps at Fairyhouse in the Tattersalls Cheltenham November Sale three-year-old maiden hurdle in November.

Well beaten by the then Gordon Elliott-trained Zanahiyr at Leopardstown at Christmas, Jeff Kidder bounced back to form today on the opening day of the Festival some 21 years after his trainer enjoyed a first Prestbury Park winner.

The original Jeff Kidder was an American lawman in the closing days of the American Old West who was most noted for his service with the Arizona Rangers
