Cultúr marks Anti Racism Day online on Friday

The Cultúr Migrant Centre in Navan is currently celebrating European Week Against Racism and will hold its annual Anti Racism Day online this Friday.

The event will feature a variety of activities and will promote inclusion in line with the UN World Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Interns who have joined Cultúr from Maynooth University and Technological University Dublin, are running a week-long event for Anti-Racism month 2021 to highlight the human rights issue of racism in Irish society.

The students will be highlighting the reality of racism all this week and on Friday (19th March) the group of students and Cultúr team will be holding a two hour long special event that will have six people from across Ireland speak about their experiences of racism and discrimination.

Participants must register online by Thursday.

It will also be a fund raising initiative by the students to enable Cultúr continue to provide an important service to the local migrant community in Navan.

The students are holding an online walk and each one will be walking 5km in their communities to raise €1000 euro as a group for the centre.

Cultúr Migrant Centre is a community organisation that works with migrants, asylum seekers and refugees promoting equal rights and opportunities to develop the importance of interculturalism in Navan.
