Wild storms home for Siobhan Rutledge

Siobhan Rutledge continues to make an impact and enhanced her reputation further tonight at Dundalk with another excellent performance on her way to the winners' enclosure with 9/2 chance Wild Shot..

This was her ninth winner of the winter series at the track and her 17th career victory as she landed the Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk Apprentice Handicap.

The winner is now trained by John McConnell and with Rutledge judging the pace to perfection challenged inside the final two furlongs to win by three-and-a-half-lengths from Sharjah.

“It was a very good ride by Siobhan, she took her time and produced him nicely," stated McConnell post-race to irishracing.com

It was a good night also for Trim jockey Colin Keane who won the 7.30pm race on board the Ger Lyons-trained 11/10 favourite Diderot in a maiden.

About an hour later the Trim man was unveiled as the 2020 Meath Sportsperson-of-the-Year in a virtual setting for the 14th annual Meath Chronicle sports awards.
