Clancy’s preparations continue for new season at Drogheda

Trim man Tim Clancy continued his preparations with Drogheda Utd for the new League of Ireland Premier Division at the weekend against Dundalk in the annual Jim Malone Cup final.

This was another good workout for Clancy's men, but it was another Meath man, Dundalk's Greg Sloggett who hit the winner in a 3-2 victory for the Oriel Park side.

The season will kick-off officially this weekend with the President's Cup final at Tallaght Stadium between Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk.

The following weekend the Premier season will start and fixtures have been rescheduled for TV and WATCHLOI broadcast.

Premier fixtures have been rescheduled into one of three time slots; 5.45pm on Friday evening, 7.45pm on Friday night or 6pm on Saturday evening.

Two Premier Division fixtures will take place on Friday 19th March with three Premier Division matches set to take place on Saturday 20th March.

For the May Bank Holiday weekend, all five fixtures in round eight will take place on Friday 30th April ahead of round nine on Monday 3rd May on a bumper weekend of SSE Airtricity Premier Division action.

The first round of fixtures in the Premier Division have been rescheduled with changes to the three further rounds to be confirmed at a later date.

WATCHLOI half-season passes will be available to purchase this week while in the First Division, Wexford home matches have been rescheduled to kick-off at 7.45pm, rather than 8pm.

Saturday 20th March (all 6pm)

Finn Harps v Bohemians;

Longford Town v Derry City;
