Rutledge nails a third winner for Tony Martin

Talented Meath apprentice jockey Siobhan Rutledge is now three from three for trainer Tony Martin after she partnered Drakensberg to a second victory at Dundalk in the space of five days this evening.

Rutledge won with Drakensberg on Friday evening and despite carrying a penalty today for that win, the Martin-trained runner benefited from Rutledge's 7lb claim to win a handicap with a well-timed run.

Drakensberg has now won four times at Dundalk scoring by three parts of a length today.

The trainer was pleased with the performance of Rutledge on Friday and again today had positive comments for the Ashbourne woman.

“Siobhan claiming 7lb off him really helped, that was the difference, and she rode him as well as any non-claiming jockey," he remarked post-race to irishracing.com.

“She didn't panic on him, it's not like she went 10 wide, she waited until the straight and he has that little bit of toe," he added.

Apart from last Friday's win, Rutledge had her first winner for Martin with The Mouse Doctor earlier this month.

The trainer will also be hoping for a win at this year's Aintree Grand National.

He has the JP McManus-owned Anibale Fly in the Aintree Grand National in April - allocated 10-12 in the weights yesterday.

Anibale Fly returns to action in the Grade 2 Red MIlls Chase at Gowran Park on Saturday.
