Gardai release shocking video of drunk driver on rural road

Gardai have released shocking video footage of a drunk driver weaving all over a rural road in broad daylight endangering unsuspecting motorists.

This driver appeared before Cork Circuit Criminal Court today and was convicted for drink driving and dangerous driving among other offences.

The driver received a four-year prison sentence, with one year suspended and has been disqualified from driving for 20 years.

In the footage supplied by a member of the public, the car can be seen driving into bends on the wrong side of the road and careering into the verges before rejoining the road narrowly avoiding oncoming traffic.

Meanwhile, Gardai at Navan Last night attended a two vehicle RTC on the Dublin Road, Navan at the junction of St Martha Bridge and the Dublin Road at 10pm last night. A grey Ford Focus 12 KE was travelling straight from Navan town centre towards Dunshaughlin. The second car a white Skoda Fabia 182MH was coming from Dunshaughlin and was in the process of turning right at the traffic light controlled junction to travel towards Johnstown when the vehicles collided.

Three persons were taken to hospital with minor injuries. There were no witnesses to the collision and no CCTV. If anyone saw the accident or have dash cam footage can you please contact the gardai on 0469021445.
