Carnaross native in fine Voice in Norway

James Fox, who emigrated with his family from Maperath, Carnaross, to France 17 years ago, but now lives in Norway, is a contestant on the Norwegian TV version of talent show 'The Voice' where he performed his version of the Led Zeppelin classic 'Whole Lotta Love'.

James, with his powerful voice, brought the house down and was chosen by Matoma, a judge on the TV show, to be on his team. Filming for the show continues until April.

James started his musical career as a young boy in Carnaross National School under the tutorship of Harry Long were he learned to play the tin whistle. He never lost his love for music and is an accomplished musician. He is drummer for rock band, Louder, he also has a solo career where he plays acoustic guitar and sings in venues in southern Norway.

He is the youngest of a family of seven. After leaving Carnaross with his parents and four of his brothers 17 years ago at the age of nine, he continued his education in France. Some years later after a move to Norway he finished his education there. After leaving school James started an apprenticeship and is a qualified painter and decorator.
