Prestigious FEI Grand Prix for Nicky Galligan

Oldcastle man Nicky Galligan claimed a prestigious first FEI Grand Prix win yesterday with his own mare, the 12-year-old Javas Miss Jordan, at the Desert International Horse Park located close to Palm Springs in California.

The FEI competition concluded this week with the $137,000 FEI 1.55m 238.2.2, sponsored by Brown Advisory.

Galligan was one of 33 competitors in action in the Grand Prix Stadium where the course was designed by Irish man Alan Wade from Tipperary, a FEI-Level 4 course designer and the son of Tommy Wade.

Galligan and Javas Miss Jordan claimed the laurels and their first career FEI Grand Prix win together with a time of 34.73 seconds.

The Oldcastle man is based in Brookhaven, New York.

Galligan took to social media after his success.

Waking up this morning, I realised yesterday wasn’t a dream but a day when dreams came true! My princess 👑 won our first ever FEI Grand Prix!

I simply don’t have words for how special she is, I’m absolutely bursting with pride at what we achieved winning the 3* 1.55m $137,000 Brown Advisory Grand Prix here at @deserthorsepark.
