Thyestes one-two for Gordon Elliott

Trainer Gordon Elliott had the first two home in the big race at Gowran Park today when Coko Beach landed the Grade A Goffs Thyestes Handicap Chase.

Runner-up Run Wild Fred completed a one-two for Elliott and Gigginstown House Stud in a race that got off at the second attempt after the starter wasn't satisfied with the first effort.

“Gordon was sweet enough on him (Coko Beach) and Jack picked him. The blinkers obviously did the trick — he jumped great and travelled great and he was the winner from a long way out," commented assistant-trainer Ian Amond.

“I’d imagine he will be on the team for Cheltenham after that and I think the National Hunt Chase is the one Gordon has in mind.

"He’ll have a few easy days after this and we might have a look at the Irish National as well," he added.
