Camogie volunteer award for Colm Whitty

Colm Whitty from Blackhall Gaels GAA Club has been voted the Meath Camogie Volunteer of the Year for 2020 by the Meath Camogie Board.

Colm was nominated by his club for his contribution to camogie as senior team manager, under-age indoor hurling co-ordinator and under-age coach.

Colm also managed to sustain the role of a dual player with the club's football and hurling teams.

.“A normal year for Colm would include playing both football and hurling, coaching the senior camogie team, coaching an under-age hurling team and almost singlehandedly orchestrating the indoor hurling and camogie for the children of the parish," commented a club official.

"We have no doubt Colm will be a very popular recipient of this year's award and Meath Camogie is delighted to put him forward for a National Camogie award," commented a Meath Camogie Board spokesperson.

This Camogie Association awards recognise the fantastic work of volunteers at all levels of the association.
