Double for Noel and Valerie Moran
Two winners today for Navan business couple Noel and Valerie Moran, one each at Leopardstown and Limerick.
Grand Roi, purchased for £400,000 last July, landed the feature race, the Grant Thornton Hurdle at Limerick today with Denis O'Regan on board.
Third at Galway in October on a debut outing for the owners, the Gordon Elliott-trained four-year-old made most of the running and won by eight lengths to scoop the first prize of €21,000.
There was also a winner at Leopardstown when Hollow Games won the bumper to add to the success in a similar contest at Punchestwon in November.
Trainer Gavin Cromwell and and jockey Johnny Moore were also on the mark at Limerick winning a maiden hurdle with Shes Some Doll.
