Kudbegood is just that for Siobhan Rutledge

Ashbourne woman Siobhan Rutledge clocked up her 12th career winner when scoring on the John McConnell-trained Kudbegood at Dundalk this evening.

After failing to win in 28 starts, Rutledge coaxed Kudbegood past the post in first pace at the Louth track a fortnight ago and repeated the feat this afternoon to make it two-in-a-row after 11 placed efforts in those previous starts without a win.

Rutledge took the lead inside the final furlong and won by half-a-length from Sam Ewing on the Gavin Cromwell-trained Muraahin with the Sarah Lynam-trained Irish Ambassador in third to make it a Meath one-two-three at the post.

“I'm delighted and hopefully he can go forward again, he loves this surface and it's taking nothing out of him which is good," commented McConnell who was also on the mark at Cheltenham.

McConnell tweeted about his Cheltenham winner

I'm in Dundalk at the minute and I'd say our screams could be heard in the Cotswolds. Well done to connections!
